Building Access Keypad Code: #1456
Location
My studio is located in The Ratner building in the East Village, on 13th Street, between F and G streets. This historic building was built in the 1920s and was home to a manufacturer of men’s clothing. It’s now the home to many creative artists as commercial space. The building is securely locked 24/7 so to get in, use the code #1456.
The Studio Itself
My studio is shaped like the letter “L.” At the bottom of the L is where I photograph everyone. There is a canopy bed on one end and a couch on the other, with chairs and a bench in the middle. I have beautiful refurbished hardwood floors all throughout my studio. When you walk in, you come in at the top of the “L” and there is a small reception area with a couch and coffee table. Across from that area is a long table where my hair and makeup artist works. It’s truly the perfect size for your photo session!
Parking
Street parking is all around my building, along the front on 13th street, and the sides, on both F and G streets. Please be mindful that F and G are both only one-way streets, so you may end up circling a bit if you can’t find parking. All street parking in this area is metered at $1/hour on weekdays and Saturdays. Some meters will allow you to park for up to 8 hours and others will only allow you up to 2. The parking in front of my building and on F Street is up to 4 hours.
Nearby Places of Interest
There are two amazing bakeries nearby that I highly recommend.
Izola Bakery used to occupy the 3rd floor of my building but expanded and moved just a couple blocks away. They are famous from their incredibly scrumptious croissants. Their new location will open in mid-May. You can find them at: 1429 Island Ave, San Diego, CA 92101
ASA Cafe Bakery is a Japanese bread cafe and has really amazing baked goods. I’ve also had their lunch items and they are just as delicious. They are open daily from 9:00am to 9:00pm. Their address is: 634 14th St #110, San Diego, CA 92101
Forget something or need a last minute item? Albertsons is right down the street on 14th and G Streets.
